Accelerated First-Responder Recovery Program

Accelerated First Responder Recovery Program

Focused treatment for trauma, chronic stress, hypervigilance, burnout, anxiety, and the emotional toll of public safety work.

When the job has changed the way you sleep, think, react, connect, or carry stress, weekly therapy may feel too slow or too difficult to fit into your life. Our Accelerated First Responder Recovery Program provides a structured, individualized treatment experience designed to help first responders better understand how cumulative stress and trauma affect the mind and body, reduce the impact of survival-mode patterns, and build practical skills for lasting recovery.

You’re Used to Handling Hard Things. But That Doesn’t Mean It Hasn’t Cost You.

You’ve learned to function under pressure. You’ve trained yourself to stay calm in crisis, keep moving when others freeze, and carry what the job requires. But over time, that same strength can come at a cost.

You may find yourself more irritable, shut down, on edge, exhausted, emotionally numb, disconnected at home, or unable to truly relax. You may struggle with sleep, replay calls or scenes, avoid certain reminders, stay constantly “on,” or feel like your body never fully powers down. You may know the job has affected you, but still tell yourself you should be able to handle it on your own.

Traditional therapy can be incredibly effective. However, meaningful progress sometimes feels slow when treatment is limited to one hour per week, especially when the stressors are cumulative, the schedule is demanding, and the habits that helped you perform at work are now interfering with life outside of it.

The Accelerated First Responder Recovery Program was created for first responders seeking a more focused, practical, and intentional path toward recovery.

You May Be a Good Fit If…

You work or have worked in law enforcement, fire/EMS, dispatch, corrections, or another high-stress public safety role.
You feel stuck in patterns of hypervigilance, irritability, shutdown, avoidance, emotional numbing, or chronic stress.
You want more focused treatment than traditional weekly therapy.
The job has affected your sleep, mood, relationships, patience, sense of safety, or ability to relax.
You have seen or experienced difficult things that still seem to follow you, even when you are off duty.
You are ready to invest time and energy into understanding what the job has done to you and building a plan for moving forward.

Why Choose an Intensive?

More Focus

Dedicated treatment time allows you to step away from everyday demands and focus directly on recovery rather than trying to squeeze important work into one hour per week.

More Momentum

Progress is not interrupted by a week between sessions. You have time to learn, practice, reflect, and apply recovery skills in a more concentrated format.

More Unique

Every intensive is customized to your role, symptoms, history, stress load, goals, and the specific ways public safety work has affected you.

More Progress

The goal is not to replace all future therapy. It is to create meaningful progress through focused and individualized care so you can function with greater clarity, steadiness, and freedom.

What Makes This Program Different?

Assessment Before Action

We begin with a clinical assessment to determine whether this program is the right fit for your needs and whether a first responder intensive is the most appropriate treatment path.

Evidence-Based Care

Treatment may include CBT, ACT, trauma-informed interventions, nervous system regulation, values-based recovery planning, and other evidence-based approaches tailored to your symptoms and treatment goals.

Built for First Responders

This program is designed with the realities of public safety work in mind, including cumulative trauma exposure, shift work, hypervigilance, emotional suppression, moral injury, burnout, family strain, and the difficulty many first responders experience when trying to shift out of “work mode.”

Follow-Up Support

Progress does not end when the intensive concludes. A follow-up appointment helps reinforce skills, review progress, and adjust your recovery plan based on how things look once you are back in everyday life.

His goal is to help first responders make meaningful progress through focused, individualized care so they can recover from the cumulative impact of the job and move forward with greater steadiness, clarity, resilience, and connection.

Intensive treatment is highly individualized and often extends beyond what insurance plans typically authorize or reimburse. Private pay allows us to focus on clinical needs rather than insurance limitations, session caps, and authorization requirements.

FAQs

Why choose an accelerated program instead of weekly therapy?

Traditional weekly therapy can be highly effective. An intensive is designed for individuals seeking a more focused treatment experience that allows for deeper exploration, greater continuity, and concentrated time dedicated to healing. The goal is not to replace therapy, but to create meaningful progress through intentional and individualized care.

Will I be cured after two days?

Healing is a process, and no ethical therapist can guarantee outcomes. The goal of this program is to create meaningful progress through focused treatment and help you move forward more intentionally than may be possible in traditional weekly therapy.

Can I participate virtually?

Yes. The program may be completed virtually when clinically appropriate and when licensure requirements allow. During your consultation, we will determine whether a virtual or in-person format is the best fit for your needs.

What if I already have a therapist?

Many clients continue working with their current therapist before and after the intensive. With your written permission, we can coordinate care to support continuity and help maximize the benefits of treatment.

How do I know if I'm a good fit?

The first step is a consultation. We will discuss your goals, history, and current concerns to determine whether the Accelerated Recovery Program is appropriate for your unique situation.

What if I am not ready for the program?

Not everyone is ready for intensive work, and that’s okay. Readiness is carefully evaluated during the assessment process. If additional preparation, stabilization, or a different level of care is recommended, we will discuss those options with you and help identify the most appropriate next step.

Is this covered by insurance?

The Accelerated Recovery Program is a private-pay service and is not billed directly to insurance. Upon request, we can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance carrier for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
